Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. We understand the sensitivity of your personal information. The following information is provided to assure you that doing business with igfa.org is extremely safe and secure.

What information do we collect?

Throughout the use of the IGFACatchLog mobile application and website, the IGFA will collect three main types of information.

  1. Personal Information – Personal information is only collected if you choose to provide it to us voluntarily. We define “personal information” as information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you. Such information might include your phone number, name or email address. This information is collected when you register to use the IGFACatchLog application. If you encounter a screen or page that requests information you do not want to share with us, do not enter the information and do not proceed with that screen or page.
  2. Scientific Information – The purpose of the IGFACatchLog is to capture scientific information about fisheries and analyze the data collectively as ‘Recreation Fishing Data’. This information is collected both automatically and voluntarily through the mobile application and website. We will collect information such as the date, time, species, and location of the catches submitted to the IGFACatchLog. We will share this information with the scientific community as summarized data and regional information. We will not share your specific fish locations with anyone other than you. You will only have access to your own specific information.
  3. Technological Information – We will collect information about the technology you are using and how it performs with our mobile application and website. This type of information will include the device, operating system, browser, connection, and IP address being used to communicate with our services. This information will not be shared with anyone. We will use this information to help improve the performance of our service.

We take every precaution to protect our visitors' information. To ensure our visitors safety, we encrypt the information that is deemed 'sensitive.' This way we can insure that the data is protected and secure.
